@kaia I really hate the idea that mobile devices should have less functionality than a desktop.
The average phone today is more powerful than the average laptop 10 years ago, there's no reason anymore to deliberately reduce mobile functionality.
Software vendors should focus on writing good code without excessive bloat, and it will probably run on even the most potato phone still in serious use today.

Google applications on Chrome Android intentionally suck so you are forced to use the apps. the apps don't have all the functionality of the desktop web page, but if you try to use that on mobile, Google will try everything to stop you.
