  Here's a portion of my race on Lake Michigan on Thursday. This starts around the time we heard the radio call that we should expect a front with 35kts +/- of wind. So, we reefed the main. Then all hell broke loose =).

  1. Time-lapse video of sailing. We set up a reefing line on the main, reefed the mainsail, then all hell broke loose and the boat turned sideways. We sailed like this for a while, then tacked towards shore. The jib sheet had an override (sigh). We added more and more backstay. Then took the mainsail down and turned downwind as we gave up the race.
