     if you want to access software for old releases of Ubuntu, you just need to do this:

     sed s/\ .\*.ubuntu.com/\ https:\\/\\/old-releases.ubuntu.com/g /etc/apt/sources.list | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list

     had to go to network settings to disable roaming mode, now the Internet works
