The one thing I'll say if you're new from Reddit, as someone who was new from Twitter several months ago, is that you can sort of listen to the Fediverse community *lightly* when they try to tell you about the ettiquette.
Like, I'm not saying completely ignore it (doing alt text is a great norm, and Masto has a wonderful blind community because of it), but if people seem really intense abt norms you disagree with you can totally mute or ignore them and nothing bad happens.
