LL Cool J - “To da Break of Dawn” single
Diss tracks have been around forever. And I mean forever (see “Yankee Doodle”, 1754). I think the first one I was aware of was Ice-T’s “The Syndicate” track.
This one here was a diss to LL's rivals at the time, Kool Moe Dee, MC Hammer, and Ice-T. The single is just this song with several different mixes. Lots of great sampling of 70s funk as usual.
