Basically every element in the movie can be linked to a different Mario game though, which was brilliant. It's basically an elaborate ad for all the games and merchandise.
Also Bowser was super likable. Amazing job on that.
My wife was like "they didn't give Yoshi a big role! And what about Daisy?"
Well here's a sequel: Bowser gets loose again, and Mario and Luigi have a successful plumbing business. Daisy is his girlfriend, and she gets sucked down a pipe and captured by Bowser. They have to go to Yoshi's island and get his help. Integrate some elements from Sunshine while you're at it.
Tada, there's another billion dollars in sales with zero effort.

Nobody is comparing this to The Godfather. It's stupid entertainment, and it's good at being fun. I spent the whole time guessing which Mario shtick they'd do next. They surprised me more than I expected! Kids must absolutely love it.
Charlie Day killed it as Luigi btw

@feld @NonPlayableClown I think it's hilarious how you insist the movie is good because "it feels like an ad". That is quite possibly the worst thing you could ever say about a movie and immediately makes it a 0/10.
