   - can use my wireless provider's shitty 5g network

     @yukijoou @mia @mewmew First off, 5G is, like all the Gs, a marketing concept first and foremost. So it's there to sell equipment and handsets. Secondly, while I agree with you, I think there are lots of consumers out there living off their phones' cell uplinks a lot more than you or me, and 5G helps push the phone as a primary screen for television.

     @mewmew @mia that sounds like a nightmare and a half… also, i still don’t get the use for 5g stuff, like is it just me or 4g is fast enough for basically anything you’d want to do on the go?

     @yukijoou @mia there's one with shit range that is significantly better than 4G, and one with better range that is less of an upgrade

     also smartphone meownufacturers don't need to be explicit ameowth which they suppawrt, the first one is probably only available on flagships

     @usernameswift @anakita @mia They still make portable media players that do non-mp3 formats, and anything with an audio out plug can be connected to a Bluetooth adapter.

     @mia @anakita I would love an audio player that has BT connectivity and can play file formats that aren't mp3s
     Unfortunately, that is called a "phone" which I have to pay $500 for if I don't want to run proprietary bullshit all the time
