Am I missing anything about the whole Reddit freakout?
The company isn't profitable, third-party applications make profit off free API requests, while costing Reddit money and losing them revenue. Redditors cry over it because stuff isn't magically free. The end.

@coin Using some other company to host images/video is just offsetting the costs to that company and in the end still has to be paid for by users somewhere.

It’s that whole mentality (very common here too) that everything should be free even if it’s at someone else’s expense.
