   You know how we have age limits for different things, because we know that the brain is an evolving organ that changes over time? Like, we don't trust that you can drive without hurting anyone consistently until after a specific age, etc.

   Well, the brain don't just develop for the better over time. After a while it starts deteriorating. That's a fact. It happens to all of us. At different speeds, yes, but that's true for the positive development too.

   So why don't we have upper age limits too?

     Like, "you can't drive until you're X years old, because, even though it might be fine, you'd likely be too big of a risk for yourself and others" makes total sense.

     And so too does "you can't drive after you're X years old, because, even though it might be fine, you'd likely be too big of a risk for yourself and others"!

     But I've never heard of a country that does it like that. Why not?

     Did you know that you have to be 35 or older to run for POTUS? But there's no upper age limit.

     @torb Yes, I think that's pretty normal, but I've never heard of a country with a universal hard limit AFAIK.

     @forteller On some things (incl. the driving license) we kinda do? AFAIK over a certain age you have to anually prove your driving abilities.
