@lain @kaia exactly what I thought. Europeans Identify with plants from the Americas and don't even know about that. Think about how many traditional national dishes and spices in Europe are not at all european. xD

@otfrom @lain @kaia I agree with your closing sentiment, but it's worth remembering that many of those countries (especially in the southeast) were colonized and never had colonies. Ottoman rule, for example, was politically and economically similar to English rule in Ireland (without using locals as agents in Africa and the Americas).

I do sort of see your point though.
