The issue is that using software gives power and funding to that software's developers, which in this case they use to promote problematic content.

For example, they use the official Lemmy website to promote Lemmygrad.

The aim of Lemmy's developers seems to be to normalise such disturbing content and shift the Overton window in a more authoritarian direction, similar to tactics used by far right "free speech" groups.

@csolisr @edendestroyer @feditips @NanoBookReview The problem is kbin isn't ready yet.. their github page prominently says "This is a very early beta version, and a lot of features are currently broken or in active development, such as federation."

Personally I'm not jumping on either right now.. waiting for a clear winner.. but kbin sounds like it's way behind.

Fair enough! And I’m personally aware of the “guilt by association” - why else would I be still trying to move from a perfectly working #Fediverse tool to another one? Yeah of course it makes sense to recommend #Kbin over #Beehaw, now that neither of them has critical mass, and especially since the latter seems unable / unwilling to restart from scratch.
