I wrote a little blog post about my thoughts on the shenanigans Reddit is pulling, and the current state of the Fedi Reddit-likes, Lemmy and kbin 🙂

@leobm Well, I can pass on what I know :) According to Lemmy’s GitHub project page, there are two main developers, nutomic and dessalines, who both also moderate the lemmy.ml instance. I don’t have anything immediately to hand about their stance on Putin specifically, but there is this thread in which they justified banning people for posting any criticisms of the Chinese government because they feel that’s “orientalism” and “racism”. I also know that as of, like, a week ago, any posts or comments on Lemmy.ml about the Russia-Ukraine war would be upvoted heavily if they contained pro-Russian talking points and downvoted heavily (and argued with) if they were pro-Ukraine, which is circumstantial but I feel like it speaks to the culture they’ve cultivated on that instance. So yeah, I would definitely prefer to promote other projects, like Kbin.

@jayeless Are many developers of #lemmy really Putin trolls?
In the #clojure community there are unfortunately some candidates too, so I already have no desire to use certain libraries or to read certain books anymore. Because indirectly you always have the feeling that if you support such people, you indirectly agree with their statements and opinions. I'm especially bothered by the fact that many people know this,
