   #Thunderbird family: Thank you for the wealth of feedback about our redesigned logo. We listened to it, appreciated it, and took some action.

   Your loudest criticism was that our beloved bird looked a bit evil or sinister (left, version 7).

   So, in this subtly improved version (right, version 7.5), we've rotated the eye and tweaked the gradient under the beak to look less harsh.

   We think this results in a calmer expression, making the bird look less predatory and more protective.

     @thunderbird @nnduc It doesn't explain much. I read it as "because we wanted to".

     The old logo was better distinguishable from Firefox. This one looks more similar to IceCat, LibreFox, etc, which were easy enough to mix up already.

     @thunderbird Old logo was perfect, bird with letter not strange thing with chat icon. Why would we need a new logo?

     @Haijo7 Is it a problem in practice or mainly because you examined the JSON and were surprised?

     Did snac give you a notification? It's not what most Fedi nodes would do.

     I suppose Friendica distributes a reply to everyone in the conversation to minimize ghost threads?

     For some reason, a lot of people seem to have been mentioned in this post.
     Is this a problem on my end or did other people actually get mentioned?

     Snac gave me a notification, but I didn't see my tag in the message itself. So I decided to check the JSON. Strange thing is, I hadn't sent any messages in the thread, I only left a like on the initial post.

     @Haijo7 Friendica notifies me when anyone does anything in a thread I've interacted with. It just phrases the notification differently when it's a direct reply to a comment of mine or when I'm explicitly mentioned – it's configurable and that's how I configured it.

     Also, when replying to a message in snac. The author of the message is only added to the CC in JSON. Did you get a notification from my previous message? I opened a pull request to make messages start with a mention, but the creator told me the author would already be in the cc, so they would already get mentioned
