     @wiredfire@mas.to It’s not even just that they’re gatekeepers. It’s that they arrive in threads without context, and opine on matters they don’t know about.
     
     Honestly, I blame the fact Mastodon has such piss poor social discovery for all these reply guys.
     
     If people just read the entirety of a thread before commenting, it would probably save us a lot of grief.

     @atomicpoet I have a very real concern that disproportionately loud gatekeepers risk quite badly damaging fedi. Though I also think there’s enough welcoming folk to overcome the damage they do 😊
