@Specialist_Being_677 I tried epilation, and it works pretty good on my legs (though sometimes it makes them look like they got in a fight with a weed eater). It was *terrible* on my tummy and chest. I stopped using it in October and I am still suffering severe, deep ingrown hairs. I'm getting my laser consult next month. HRT isn't in the cards for me; I'm hoping at 43 most of it has grown in, though.

There was also a showing of support for simpler hair removal methods: some chemical depilatory (e.g. nair), some waxing, some mechanical epilator. Nobody mentioned sugaring which is how I do my legs right now, but I would lump that generally with waxing, it's a sibling or cousin to waxing.
Also there's apparently a home laser (real laser, not IPL) but it is apparently weak and more for small areas or spot treatments.
Thanks everyone who took the time to respond! It's helpful having more data!

Follow up: seems like feedback is fairly roughly split between "home IPL provides benefits I find useful" and "home IPL is not worth the money" 🤣. The only machine mentioned more than once is the Braun series 5. Everybody appears to agree laser is faster and more permanent, which I expected.
Unexpectedly I also got a lot of "HRT helped my body hair issues substantially". I knew it affected it, and for a while I thought it was a prereq for laser (it isn't). 🧵

So help me fedi. Watching #trans YouTube, seeing lots of sponsor spots for IPL devices for hair removal (mainly Ketch though I know there are other brands).
They look expensive until you price laser, then it seems like cheap due diligence. Pretty sure I can't avoid laser on my face, but wondering if they're any good for things like chest and legs? I've got pretty light skin and very dark hair, and no hrt (not sure when).
Any experiences would be helpful: What have non-sponsored people seen?
