How will the #Fediverse break #Meta’s monopoly on social media?
Same way the IESA broke IBM’s monopoly on PCs.
Same way HTML5 broke Adobe’s monopoly with Flash.
Same way open Internet standards broke Microsoft’s monopoly with Internet Explorer.
Open standards and protocols have a habit of breaking monopolies.

Why? Because they know all social media apps have a shelf life.
