   Hoping against hope that the substantial boost in education funding in this bill is enough.

   High-need public schools in MN are in crisis right now. I certainly see that here in Minneapolis, but it’s statewide — and state funding is at the heart of it.

   I haven’t yet seen a in-depth analysis of what the cross-subsidy mitigation in this bill means in practice for Mpls & similarly squeezed school districts.

     To be clear: Minneapolis is a special case. Ed Graff, the incompetent former superintendent, and terrible previous school board leadership created self-inflicted wounds that are unique to this city.

     However, their bungling came in the context of a state-created crisis. Minnesota has been systemically underfunding school districts along racist, anti-immigrant, and anti-metropolitan lines:

     @inthehands it's really bad. But to be honest I don't think that Graff was bungling. I think that they know exactly what they are doing, which is resegregating the schools
