@ChrisWere Truthfully I was on the fence about sharing it, but I don't think it's entirely sensational. We've seen Microsoft and Crunchyroll both refuse Tutanota, in one case without a valid reason and in another without any reason at all. And I think his arguments about how Big Tech is trying to edge out self-hosting are legitimate. I wouldn't recommend anyone self host email, but I think it should be an option for everyone. How long before they start edging out Proton?

I always find hot takes like this a little cringe.Whilst it's understandable that hosting your own email server is more trouble than it's worth, there are a good number of non-big-tech providers; and I would argue that's a better way email should be done anyway. Club together, support a decent company or organisation and pool your resources. Going at it alone is probably not the best economy.
