    I just sent an email to corporate.responsibility@target.com letting them know that caving to fascist threats of violence hurts LGBTQ people and only emboldens the people who hate us.

    I doubt it will matter, but I wanted to say something.

      WTF is wrong with some people? Why tell me what I "should" be doing, and why act as if I'm not a queer person myself?! "You *should*..." No, you should be doing anything but posting in my replies.

      @dgregor79 @parkermolloy
      My message for them is exactly what @quephird, just so well stated:
      https://queer.party/@quephird/110426857998223086 Their actions make me believe that all their various shows of community support are insincere and cynical. I’ll think of this failure every time Target does something that looks socially responsible in the future.

        My hot take is that Target, and any other organization for that matter, that decides to do something that promotes/supports/celebrates marginalized people needs to anticipate potential backlash, _and_ plan on continuing that support when it happens. If they aren't prepared to do that, then they shouldn't do so in the first place, and they aren't real allies. They're merely opportunists.

      @parkermolloy I sent them an email as well. If enough of us do, perhaps they’ll realize that it makes economic sense not to cave to fascism
