    @mori The theme of the book is that some things, like AI and androids, can never be human. You can only make them mimick humanity in a sociopathic fashion, where they become progressively more horrific, until you reach the point where everybody in society who is human feels isolated and in despair, craving even the simplest meaningful contact with another genuinely living thing.

    Meanwhile, the theme of Blade Runner is: robots are people too.

      I wonder how many people realise that the theme of Phillip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream Electric Sheep?, is precisely the opposite of its adaptation, Blade Runner?

      Keep seeing a bunch of literary types make this mistake so I’m guessing regular folks don’t have a chance.
