   the scariest thing about DeSantis and his ilk is the immediacy of these changes.

   it feels like Dems are being caught by surprise and not prepared to deal with them and their plans.

   I am really concerned.

     The inability to find an effective response really is scary. It does not contradict your point at all, but I always have to link to this report whenever “Democrats in Florida!” enters the chat:

     “In 2016, more than one in five of Florida’s Black voting-age population was disenfranchised.”

     If we’re wondering why anti-fascist forces seem powerless in FL, well, there’s our answer: it’s already not a democracy.

     @inthehands yes and not even the Florida folks, the national party seems mute.

     I haven't seen Jamie Harrison on TV in months

     @jentrification Yeah. I think there’s stil a lot of denial from some of the old guard in the party that democracy can somehow ride out disenfranchisement. I realize we were never going to get the national voting rights revamp I’d want past Manchin and Sinema, but I wish more people in the party were at least yelling from the rooftops about this, tying it to every unpopular thing that passes.
