   p.s. I think some people are taking these polls a bit too seriously.

   Polls like this don't really tell you anything about what reality is, because they are not doing anything to ensure the people taking part are a representative sample.

   Even if a million people took part, it still doesn't make it accurate. It's called participation bias:

   Professional opinion poll companies like Gallup etc do a lot of work to remove participation bias by balancing who takes part.

     p.p.s. I did the poll because I wanted to do follow-on posts about the options available to use the Fediverse, and thought it would be good to start with asking people to choose from a list.

     I didn't intend this to be an accurate poll of the Fediverse, as that would require qualified professionals and great resources.

     It's a matter of taste. If people want a shortlist, I'd say Tusky and Fedilab on Android or Toot! and Ice Cubes on iPhone.

     There's also Megalodon which is good but the dev still describes it as experimental, so I don't know what their long term plans are?

     And then there are polished apps like Ivory but that is a subscription service.

     At least on Toot! you can scroll to the top of the timeline by tapping the very top of the screen?

     @feditips I tried an app but didn't like it. If I don't log on for more than a day, I have to scroll through hundreds of posts to get to the post recent.

     Is there a favorite?
