     @lain the Duran cope interpretation of it was that Prigozhin was panicking in public about all the people he'd lost, and then when they revealed the number it was dramatically less than what Ukraine usually loses in an attempt to demoralize them. I don't know if I buy that, the fog of war is vry thick

     @Moon it was just the location that both sides decided to pour most of their resources into. for RF it was a city on the way to Slovyansk, and for AFU it was an opportunity to frustrate and degrade Wagner. everything will now continue further up the front line.

     @augustus @Moon Slavyansk is the northern anchor point of the final defensive fortified line. Konstantinovka (2 towns over from Bakhmut, 1 after Chasov Yar) is the southern anchor point. The way to both is now open

     @DK_Dharmaraj @Moon Konstantinovka looks fucking massive on the map, I hope they don't have to siege that it looks utterly grueling. I keep being amazed by Ukraine's ability to defend so I wonder how much losing Bakhmut will actually affect them, seems like it will mostly be a morale thing

     @augustus @Moon My expectation is they will set up shop at the gates of Konstantinovka, then wait for a Maryinka --> Avdeevka --> Seversk --> Slavyansk advance, then start rolling up the line from the anchor points. Prigozhin said it would take a year or two
