   does adding people to a list make it less effective to fetch/federate their posts than actually following them? bc thats what im noticing rn
   it seems like the fetching slowed down massively once i unfollowed and there are many posts that didnt reach here

     you can add people to a filter arbitrarily, other people might follow them for you on the same instance
     
     federation works through one way only -> follows
     follows introduce another form of federation -> activities
     you see posts that the people you follow interact with, likes/repeats/reactions

     i guess you just have to follow them if the instance does not federate that good

     @helene @hj tbh i see why this would be an option if the instance federates good due to people on the same instance following the person or interacting with their posts constantly (liking memes, random replies), then there's no reason to follow them ig
