my nixos installation is kinda schizo

1. I have 20 GiB RAM
2. my rootfs is zfs
3. after a few hours of use, free always reports < 1 GiB available
4. htop reports only ~10 GiB is being used with my normal applications open
5. firefox keeps unloading tabs because it thinks I’m low on available memory
6. my friend says it’s zfs cache stuff, but I eventually drop caches and doesn’t change anything

idk what to do
