     Of course, if conservatives are worrying that public acceptance might help closeted people come out, they're right. Maybe even people who were closeted from themselves. But nobody is "turning gay".

     @clacke I had gay neighbors as a young teenager. They never did anything to me, and knowing they were gay didn't stop me from thinking I was straight. If anything, hegemonic masculinity stopped me from considering the possibility that I might not be straight.
