Now I don't give a rat's ass about Halley Barry being Ariel in the little mermaid(though the hair? someone def hates her, fucking tan instead of red, criminal), she can sing, acting is mid (I used to watch her on Grownish which was also mid lol) and Disney live actions have always been meh.

But why tf is Melissa McCarthy Ursula??? This one's personal seriously. Who made that quack decision, from the trailer alone it's giving nothing. If they wanted an Ursula then they should of hired a woman with some sinister charm to her, some melodrama and gravitas. Ursula was over the top and an entire performance. She gave the entire movie plot, without her there's nothing. Instead we've got Melissa McCarthy which only ever acts like herself really attempting to be a villain... and it's not good.

This is why live actions have no soul. And considering Marvel's superhero stuff which literally comes from comics and Disney owns, you'd think they'd know how to do this right.
