   A typo meant that my phone number was distributed to college football coaches around the country as the phone number for a local high school coach, so for the last month I have fielded dozens of texts (and a few calls) from coaches who want to come to recruit his players.

   These boys are going to receive scholarships worth thousands of dollars because of the kindness of a stranger who loathes football to her core, but passed along the right phone number.

   I deserve a gold star or something.

     My mom’s office number got mixed with the number for an electronics repair place in an ad, and the way she found out was something like this:

     MOM: Hello?

     CALLER: Hello. Can you fix my VCR?

     MOM: …I can’t even fix my own VCR!
