Did you know that the OBS project is using Discord to provide help for their community?
How relevant do you think is Discord?

@textovervideo A forum would indeed be better in my opinion which they already have so I don't see any problems here.
Matrix is, at this point, a place where people who already know how to do hacky stuff go chat. Yeah there are groups that help people do things and such, but if you want help and stay foss there is the forum already which is better than discord and matrix anyway
I would think an open source project like OBS would use open source solutions to provide help for the community.
Discord isn’t open source. It is licensed as proprietary, and its software isn’t freely available for people to access or modify.
@textovervideo OBS is a project for everyone, not just foss enthusiasts, so it makes sense for them to use Discord
@textovervideo Pi-hole, Krita, Lutris, Minetest, Manjaro, OpenSUSE.
#Discord has more use than you may think :P
@textovervideo They also say
"Fedora has a strong community that is ready to help you. Because users and contributors span the globe, a key element to the project is communication. Forums, mailing lists, IRC, Telegram, and Discord provide quick and easy ways to communicate. "

@joel the Fedora project says on their website that they, "...use Matrix/Element and/or IRC to speak to each other in real time and mailing lists for longer discussions for which short live chats may not be enough."
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/join/
And Fedora also says on their website, "Visit Fedora’s official chat platform, https://chat.fedoraproject.org (powered by Matrix)."

@textovervideo Tachiyomi, Delta Icon Pack, Godot Engine, Many emulation and homebrew projects too.
Oh and also Fedora :blobcatderpy:
Do you know any other open source projects using Discord besides OBS?
