We have a small overgrown suburban back yard. The neighbours don't like it. But today, we had 21 different species of #birds visit: American Goldfinch, American Robin, Baltimore Oriole, Clay-colored Sparrow, Common Grackle, Common Raven, Gray Catbird, Hermit Thrush, House Finch, House Sparrow, Nashville Warbler, Northern Cardinal, Northern Parula, Orchard Oriole, Ovenbird, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Tennessee Warbler, Veery, Warbling Vireo, White-throated Sparrow, White-winged Crossbill

We don't do either.

We were doing that kind of thing in our small town several years ago until a neighbor called the weed police.He's long dead now, but I still suffer pesticide sensitivity from unprotected exposure when I pulled it all out to satisfy bylaw— without gloves or any ppe because I didn't realize he had sprayed it with pesticide first.
In retrospect I think he did it because he spent $ on bird feeders in his neatly manicured yard but we got more birds by letting nature run wild.
