     @jill @EJM77 @Chet There's a mansion here with a distinctively Mediterranean feel. But you just KNOW it's in the Pacific Northwest, because they're always pressure washing. I can see how an arid climate would perfectly suit it though. Proper architects have so many reasons to follow regional traditions.

     Not a candidate, but Bombay Beach has an interesting history. Of course they'd mismanage the Salton Sea... it's California.
