     Jânio Quadros, briefly President of Brazil in the 1960s, was a notorious drinker. Asked why he drank alcohol, he replied "I drink it because it is liquid; if it was solid, I would eat it."

     @dgar @spaf It’s like the old joke about the US immigration official who asks a new arrival, “Do you support the overthrow of the United States government by force or violence?” After pausing a moment to think, the new arrival answers, “Violence.”
