I have very serious doubts about whether we humans are capable of a self-sustaining closed colony on the entire Earth.
@shriramk I'm not convinced that we're even capable of a self-sustaining closed colony in Montana, TBH.
@shriramk Also seems like we should maybe build a self-sustaining colony in, like, Greenland first, since that's a hell of a lot easier.
@steve We're well on our way, given that half of what prevents that on Greenland is soon going to be washing up against New England.
@inthehands @steve @shriramk someone should write a short story about a colony on Mars failing because everybody refuses to comply with water and oxygen rationing even though there's more than enough for everyone.
