   I have no idea why we're trying to go to Mars when we have basic engineering problems unsolved on earth, like how to make a reliable umbrella.

     I have very serious doubts about whether we humans are capable of a self-sustaining closed colony on the entire Earth.

     @inthehands @steve @shriramk someone should write a short story about a colony on Mars failing because everybody refuses to comply with water and oxygen rationing even though there's more than enough for everyone.
