@witewulf The black bars are a compromise of preserving aspect ratio, otherwise we'd have to zoom in non-square photos and that could cut off relevant context or we could "contain" the media at a fixed size but at certain aspect ratios that could be difficult to see

I’ve noticed that posting multiple images at once doesn’t get your photos noticed as much, as scrolling through you only see the first image posted, not a mosaic as you do on mastodon.
I often pick a few best shots from a session/event and post them together, but it’s hard to pick the best one for the “key” image, and I feel others are getting missed.
I’ll move to posting individual images from now on
