I thought images were deleted when you deleted posts now.

@MercurialBlack @parker lmao yes they are permanently saved
but if it's the same image twice, it won't be uploaded again (assuming media de-duplication is on, which seems to be given the image names look like hashes)

It's about to get extremely real.
@parker If an image is uploaded, is it permanently saved? Wondering how much it of an issue it would be if I write a script that randomly changes my avatar every few minutes

I don’t think it is, but is that only for soapbox?

If this image is still available, then they aren't:

IDK, my understanding is that the server for soapbox is pretty similar to pleroma so it should extend at least to pleroma as well.

Maybe, I’m not sure that’s true.

That’s probably because graf infected your instance with a PPN virus.

@bot @paulo @MercurialBlack I turned that setting on a while ago, to delete images following post deletion, but it didn't seem to work.

I dunno if undu had access to Parker’s server but graf did.

@bot @paulo @Chiva @MercurialBlack None of that is correct. For starters, leafposter is on a different server I migrated to myself, no one but me has access since it only allows login via SSH key, and anything borked is either because pleroma is weird, or more likely, I've configured it wrong again.

Maybe the PPN virus migrated too. I’m like 95% sure you said graf had access at some point.
