Who would have thought that if Apple make a Tracking Device, which uses other peoples phones to locate it, that this gets abused? Imho everyone with basic technical knowledge could have predict this.
Well since the damage is done, Apple tried to push an Android App so that Android Users could detect if they are beeing tracked...
Imho this has nothing to do with a proper solution to prevent abuse at all.
So the next step should be to create a unified detection solution together with google.
Also this cant be a solution to the problem they created themself, its a way better solution than before yes, but that does discriminate people without Android & iOS Phones.
The only true solution to this issue is to disable all airtags and the functionality to track those on every phone.-

:blobcathug: (jain@blob.cat)'s status on Saturday, 06-May-2023 16:46:33 JST :blobcathug: There might be a way to achive this: Build a Muli Airtag: When there is a device which instead of spread out one signature it spreads out a list of signatures, it would prevent phones from detecting that you are tracked but one would still be able to track people.
So basically by building a ultimate tracking device for cheap, they might be getting forced to change their system or disable it.
Since this is imho a possible theory to create the ultimate cheap tracking device, it might be already built -

guenther (guenther@chaos.social)'s status on Saturday, 06-May-2023 16:47:29 JST guenther @Jain They created a problem and then marketed the solution.
And since they have taught the general public not to care about how technology works, most people won't realize that the essential part of the tracking infrastructure was on their own phones to begin with.
