?? Humpleupagus ?? (humpleupagus@eveningzoo.club)'s status on Saturday, 06-May-2023 06:20:08 JST ?? Humpleupagus ?? I'm self-employed. I used to have a catastrophic plan in case my wife, kids, or I got cancer or something. It was $450/mo with no matching, deductible, or co-pays
After obamacare, I pay $1750/mo with a $10k deductible, plus 40% match up to $10k. And people say... but you're only liable to $10k/year. Yeah, but I'm $1300/mo poorer, and I didn't have any matching or deductible before. 🙄-

?? Humpleupagus ?? (humpleupagus@eveningzoo.club)'s status on Saturday, 06-May-2023 06:42:40 JST ?? Humpleupagus ?? What's even worse is not only are people pay 500% more for care, the care they are getting is 500% worse. When you really need care, you're going to go to an overworked specialist at some hospital or medical group. Good luck seeing one sooner than 60 days out unless you're in the ER. And even when you do see one, you'll get ten minutes and they haven't reviewed your file when they walk in.
When I was a kid, I had two solo-doctors that ran their own practices and they did everything, including taking x-rays in office themselves and putting on the casts. One of them even kept common pharmaceuticals in his office and would hand you the script right there. -

North Country (ejm77@eveningzoo.club)'s status on Saturday, 06-May-2023 06:48:19 JST North Country The big hospitals have run those guys out of business. They make them an offer to work for the hospital if they refuse they set up a hospital satellite office, right next door in some cases. I’ve seen it happen here over and over. -

?? Humpleupagus ?? (humpleupagus@eveningzoo.club)'s status on Saturday, 06-May-2023 06:48:19 JST ?? Humpleupagus ?? Same here. Even worse, the state of California and Kaiser have teamed up to push small hospitals out of business. It's very subtle how they do it. There are multiple vectors of attack. -

?? Humpleupagus ?? (humpleupagus@eveningzoo.club)'s status on Saturday, 06-May-2023 06:50:48 JST ?? Humpleupagus ?? Kaiser kills people. But the state doesn't care. It's just the cost of business. People are expendable as long as the machine keeps running.
