You know that there's something just basically *wrong* in macroeconomics when great employment figures are treated by the government as a bad thing and an excuse to make ordinary people's lives even harder by endlessly raising interest rates to "fight inflation."

My point is that no really qualified, really stable person can be expected to *want* to be president, and history seems to bear this out. You can't win the primary if the south hates you. That's why Bernie was never a national candidate.

BUT, the fact that we're dealing with a Biden-Trump rerun shows that our federal election system is deep into Kafkaesque territory.
