     @winnie it's not about discord specifically, more that i'm afraid that the motives of companies like discord or slack are adverse to the interests of many of the communities that rely on them when viewed on a larger time frame. this is basically what http://ascii.textfiles.com/archives/5509 is about, and really what i'd try to avoid, like so: https://post.lurk.org/@computersandblues/110063161665886239
