   @josh @erdanton @alisynthesis let me blow your mind: consider that your feet are the problem only because the sneakers made them that way… (look up “barefoot shoes” and you’ll certainly find some how dramatically the shape of your foot changes over time thanks to typical shoe design)

     @erdanton @alisynthesis Yes! I went through pair after pair thinking, wow, the quality is really tanking. Eventually realized it was my feet that was the problem.

     @alisynthesis @josh They're definitely getting worse. The style of sneakers I wore happily and comfortably 15 years ago are torture now.

     @josh I'm always wondering whether these sorts of things are actually getting worse or if I just actually notice them now. Pretty sure I was entirely oblivious to the outside world 15 years ago. Either way, wtf

     The worst part of middle age, by far, is haircuts. They never work. I’m always seeking the one that will stick, that will be the way I cut my hair from now on. But the hair never cooperates, it just goes on changing and getting more difficult to manage. It’s not like the hair is “good,” it just gets really “bad” if left untended.

     Also, sneakers. They used to fit normally. Now they’re never right.
