   it's very funny to me when people say things like "I don't want to have a recommendation algorithm affect my timeline; I've tried that and it's terrible"

   the number of people who have tried that with a non-hostile recommendation algorithm is probably in the double digits, across the whole world; it's effectively never even been attempted beyond the smallest of scales
