     @clacke Wasn't Star Trek political from the start? Even TOS was political, see for example "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield".

     @clacke #StarTrek has always been political. Consider "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield", not exactly a masterpiece of subtlety.

     That being said, subtlety is a virtue in drama, and I haven't seen any episodes of *Picard*.
