The way a lot of Western (supposedly) left-wing personalities are trivializing Russia's invasion of Ukraine, be it by claiming it as a war of "NATO aggression" or by branding the Ukrainian society as some kind of neo-nazi state, only serves to weaken the support of Ukrainian grassroots left-wing groups and their ideas among the Ukrainian people.

Once the war ends, I think there's a very real possibility of not only Ukrainians, but other East Europeans shutting their ears to left-wing ideas, if Western batshit tankies succeed in painting the broader international left as a bunch of Stalin larpers and genocide deniers.

Do we want a post-war Ukraine where local anarchists, labor unions and other antiauth left-wing groups can thrive, or do we want a Ukraine where leftist thought is misconstrued as inherently authoritarian and genocidal?
