I’m semi tempted to cancel my #CISSP exam and do something else instead. I really don’t think I can be fussed doing it. The content feels very dry and doesn’t feel like it helps what I do.
What are your thoughts?

@paulsanders If you want to prove you have a wide base of knowledge, it’s perfect. And it will still get you past the HR filter for some jobs. But that’s about it. So, what are you hoping to get out of it?
@horse thanks. I’m not too worried about HR filter, as self employed, although I am a bit of a cert junky and like ‘knowing’ the industry I work in.
As for what I want to get out of it, I failed it 8 years ago… so kinda just set my mind to redo it.
@paulsanders Then I say do it! Was the test you took 8 years ago adaptive or just a standard length?
@horse @paulsanders I've seen clients who were questioning why to hire a firm, and one of their concerns was that a much larger firm had alphabet soup for their consultants, so I keep my CISSP active.
(ISC)2 won't let you test online, but the exam is adaptive, so it's not quite the same marathon exercise that it used to be.
I hadn't considered that aspect. I should start including my letters in my email signature so I look fancy.
@DaLanShark @paulsanders
FANCY
@horse @paulsanders Jake, you are already fancy, no letters required!
@DaLanShark @paulsanders Should I change it to Jake Hildreth, FANCY?
