I just wrote a program that you can run in background to automatically clean up links you copy into clipboard
it's basically https://github.com/Smile4ever/Neat-URL but system-wide. In theory, it should be cross platform and support windows, mac, linux/x11 and linux/wayland, but I've only tested it on linux/x11 so far.
