   @schlink Personally I like to just use the extension Draw on your screen 2, and then take a screenshot of the result. But I don't know if that works for your usecase.

     what's a good Linux/GNOME program for annotating images with text/circles/arrows?

     GIMP is too intense; and GNU Paint doesn't have an undo functionality(?!)...
