     @bot @cassidyclown it's not that they couldn't explain it, they don't understand how the model works at all. it did get better in gpt-3 and gpt-4 though, so maybe the model is not complex enough to see that endless repetition doesn't happen in natural speech

     @bot @Inginsub @cassidyclown it's just probability, how likely should the next token be for it to be selected(temperature), english text itself is repetitive, so they have to make the generator select tokens less and less likely until it babbles something else instead of the same sentence
