    The second thing that stuck out at me was not necessarily OCB's performance, which we already knew was amazing, but how it also compared to ChaCha20-Poly1305 and AEGIS-128. And the presentation of that performance is on point.

      Just finished reading "The design and evolution of OCB", by Ted Krovetz and Phil Rogaway.

      Two things stuck out at me. First, this at the end:

      "The limited adoption of OCB
      exemplifies the often poisonous impact of patents on cryptographic practice."
