   Risks posed by climate change to our planet and its people are so extreme and obvious that even the global capitalist elite acknowledge them.

   Instead of flying on their private jets to Davos every year the elites should use their influence to restructure our economy towards a new economic model. A new model that isn't based on GDP growth as the sole measurement of progress.

     The Global Risks Report 2023 is clear: 5 out of the top-10 global short term risks (2 years) are in the Environmental category. ‘Natural disasters and extreme weather events’ is NUMBER TWO.

     Over the long term (10 years), 6 out of the top-10 global risks are in the Environmental category. ‘Failure to mitigate climate change’ is NUMBER ONE.

     This report is compiled by more than 1,200 experts across the World Economic Forum’s diverse network including business and government.
