To be clear, I'm a @pluralistic fan and I'm glad to see the posts. It just cracks me up when my feed gets blasted with a Cory Doctorow longthread.

Evan Prodromou (evan@prodromou.pub)'s status on Monday, 13-Mar-2023 03:59:37 JST Evan Prodromou @tehstu does he post anything else? That seems likely to be just an effective unfollow.

Stu (tehstu@hachyderm.io)'s status on Monday, 13-Mar-2023 03:59:38 JST Stu @evan @pluralistic Cory once helpfully suggested folks filter "Long thread/" from their feeds and it works really well. I see the opening post only in home.

? ? ?? ? ? ? (lonelymtn@fosstodon.org)'s status on Monday, 13-Mar-2023 07:55:30 JST ? ? ?? ? ? ? @evan @tehstu Yes, he does, just a bit in spurts (especially when he is doing tour-related stuff). I dont get the unfollow mentality, creating a filter is trivial.

Peter Butler (peterbutler@mas.to)'s status on Monday, 13-Mar-2023 07:55:30 JST Peter Butler @lonelymtn @evan @tehstu I believe the argument from Evan is that creating a “long thread” filter would be equivalent to a block if all his posts were marked with CW “long thread.”
I think the idea, though is that the first post in the thread *isn’t* marked, so filtering out “long thread” should effectively remove the replies in the thread from your TL. Just my $.02.
